Frequently Asked Questions
How is the Lanier Education Foundation (LEF) different from the PTA?
LEF is supports all Lanier Cluster Schools (Sugar Hill, Sycamore, White Oak, Lanier MS, Lanier HS) and seeks to support cluster-wide initiatives (i.e. project-based learning, robotics, mentoring, STEM, etc.) as well as teaher initiatives through various grants. The PTA continues to be each individual school's primary liaison between parents, students, and teachers, supporting day-to-day classroom needs and the needs of each particular school.
How does LEF support the Lanier Cluster of Schools?
LEF raises funds through sponsorships and donations to supply grants to the five Lanier Cluster Schools. In order to do this, LEF holds various events throughout the year and engages the local community. The grants LEF provides fun mentoring programs, innovative teaming and planning, externships for teachers, experiences for students, classroom technology above and beyond what the district provides, and so much more.
How can I support LEF?
While we certainly appreciate financial donations, we also know a person's time is even more valuable. You can support LEF's efforts in a number of ways, including attending events, volunteering your time, or donating directly. See our Donate/Volunteer and Sponsors & Donors pages for more information.
