Gwinnett Daily Post (11/06/17)--With its recent designation as a 21st Century Learning Exemplar in Gwinnett County Public Schools for 2017-18, Lanier Cluster Schools has a distinction that sets it apart from every other school cluster in Georgia. “We can now claim we are the only cluster of schools in the state of Georgia to have both K-12 STEM certification and be a P21 Exemplar,” said Kyle Jones, Lanier High School’s Academy coach and leader of the cluster’s Vertical Innovation Team, in a news release. “We believe our entire cluster is aligned to truly prepare our students for life after their K-12 experience and enter an ever-changing economy and workforce.” The cluster – Sugar Hill Elementary, Sycamore Elementary, White Oak Elementary, Lanier Middle and Lanier High – was recently honored by the Partnership for 21st Century Learning (P21) as an Exemplar Program, demonstrating “not just an adequate implementation of the Framework for 21st Century Learning, but also expertise in the elements of student agency, distributed leadership, a climate of achievement, engaged community and use of evidence and research.
